That's right. Graham Hodges mentions that scene in his book on AMW. He says it was cut and later used in another film, though he doesn't say which film. It would be neat to see!

I just went and read it, and the footnote. In the revised edition. Perhaps GRGH was channeling his inner Orson Welles.
